COMMERCIAL DUE DILIGENCE FOR PIPER PRIVATE EQUITY 

The Objective

The aim of the research was to provide Piper with a deep dive into the behaviours, attitudes, perceptions, and sentiments of the Yard Sale Pizza customer as part of the commercial due diligence process ahead of their investment.

Our Approach

We utilised the existing Yard Sale customer database and created an in-depth online survey that tackled such topics as discovery of the brand, customer drivers & occasions, customer journey, brand experience and triggers that can driver incremental visits and spend. Through the lens of 1,656 customer surveys, we were able to provide a detailed understanding of their customer base, across all sites, demographics and customer behavioural profiles to establish the strengths and opportunities for Yard Sale Pizza in driving greater loyalty across their existing portfolio and also showcasing the value they can bring to new sites/new openings.

Our commercial due diligence with KAM sought to answer the key questions of why customers love the brand and what makes the product better and different to the competition. This helped in understanding the potential scalability of the business.
