Great to see so many of you at last night’s CTP Awards- a few sore heads out there this morning, I’m guessing! Congratulations to all the winners- especially Rontec for best Food-to-Go, which is what I’d like to focus on today.
I know that hearing food-to-go being touted as the saviour of the convenience industry is getting just a little tedious, the same happened with the pub industry (an area we also work in) a few years ago with food in general- and now, in 2017, for the first year ever, the balance of food to drink sold on premise tipped over to 51% V 49%. Will the same happen with FTG Vs other products in convenience? I don’t, unfortunately, have the answer, but I DO know what shoppers want from a convenience store FTG offering.
We asked the members of KAMunity what was most important to them when purchasing FTG in a C-Store. A good in store bakery came out top, closely followed by “quality”- full results of this question, asked to 210 people are below.
