Good morning,
I love a snack. More often than not, when I go to my local, I order nuts, olives or something else to keep the “Hanger” at bay.
Just recently I’ve seen some great pub/bar snack offers in pubs and bars- it’s an area that I’ve long thought needs a bit of attention in the industry; ever more demanding customers aren’t happy to settle for a packet of crisps any more.
What I like about the two pictures below is that they were taken in two very different pubs- but each has a specific, interesting offer that suits their customer base and is well communicated.
This week, we asked KAMunity, our online community of pub/bar customers how often they bought snacks when going to a pub or bar. The answer? The average pub/bar goer buys snacks on 22% of their visits
And we also asked whether they thought that the snack offer in pubs and bars was good enough- 65% thought it wasn’t.
I think there’s a great opportunity to gain some incremental spend and to give customers a better “experience”. I’d love to see any good (or particularly poor!) examples out there, feel free to send them in!

Tonight I’ll be finishing off this godforsaken decorating project (I’m getting a decorator in next time, I swear), and maybe popping to my local for a celebratory pint. Tomorrow I am having lunch in Soho with a friend- any recommendations for drinks before/after would be gratefully received. And then on Sunday, it’s back down to Surrey for a BBQ -weather willing- at a friends’ farmhouse.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned, see you next week!
Katy
