Good morning and Happy New Year!
On my recent holiday to Bali, I ventured into many a pub, bar and restaurant (I give, and I give!) and thought I’d share a few things with you from that trip.
My first favourite place was a small chain called Bali Buda- a great, healthy eating cafe/bar found in several of the larger towns. Their menu; designed to look like a newspaper, actually hosted adverts from other local businesses, which creates another revenue stream for the outlet, as well as being a great PR and marketing tool for the brand and all they stand for.
Social and Corporate responsibility was also at the forefront of the Pizza Express menu in Hong Kong airport- have a look at the picture below; the back of their menu shouts about all the good causes they support, sustainability and responsible retailing- all areas of growing importance to customers. I’ll share some more Indonesian insight next week!
This being my first week back after an extended break, I have a busy weekend ahead of me; tonight, I will be watching, openmouthed, the inauguration of an unlikely candidate as the next President of the United States. This will require a LOT of wine. Tomorrow, lunch with a friend and then Sunday I’m off down to Surrey for lunch at an ex-collegaue’s house. It’s good to be back!
