KAMera- Eye on the Ontrade 97

Good morning one and all

Believe it or not, it’s summer. What does summer mean to you? Evening walks in the park? BBQ’s? Well, to me it means crisp, clean tasting dry Rosé wine. I mean, there’s other things too, but mainly it’s Rosé.

But did you know that there’s a new kid on the block? Frosé.

Frosé is a “Slushie for adults”. It involves blending a whole bottle of Rosé wine with the juice of two lemons, two teaspoons of sugar and then freezing for six hours. Other recipes are starting to emerge as the drink gains support in the ontrade.

On the surface, it seems like a good idea; the sweetness will appeal to those hard to reach Millennials, the chilled element suits summer drinking, but what did the members of KAMunity think?

A split court this week, with 47% saying they’d try it, 53% said they’d steer clear. However, when you look at the data by demographic, the younger audience are FAR more likely to partake- 59% of 18-25 year olds thought it was a Frosé was a great idea!

Whether you buy it ready-made, or create your own, Frosé might be worth a try this summer (what’s left of it!)

PS- Just one more week for the deadline to join the first wave of PubliKAM, our new exciting research programme that speaks to publicans throughout the year- contact us for more details.

This email comes to you from sunny Sussex where I’m celebrating a friend’s wedding, then tomorrow I will be running around getting chores done in time for us to be able to leave first thing on Sunday morning (7am flight with two teenage boys, god help me) for a week in Portugal with the family. Can’t wait!

Have a lovely weekend
